Nineteen of Medvedev's 21 championships have been earned on hardcourt

A resurgent Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial title for nearly 30 months with victory over Frenchman Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has experienced a challenging year, achieving just one match at the big events and experiencing a meltdown at the US Open.

Medvedev's inconsistency on the professional circuit - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-time trainer Cervara.

Currently collaborating with Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has gradually progressed in the recent weeks - climaxing in a tightly fought competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

This marks the player's first championship since the Italian tournament and maiden on a hardcourt from March of that year.

Success also indicates Medvedev has won twenty-one victories at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.

"This title is in dedication of my second daughter my daughter, because the maiden victory I won when my child Alisa was born was for her."

The tennis star, the 2021 US Open champion, had failed in his past six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

His counter-punching approach and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had caused observers to doubt if his capacity to perform at the elite level was over.

However the player has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and compete assertively, supported by an better serving game.

Medvedev came back from a break down in the initial set against the challenging opponent, taking 4 of the concluding five games to take the lead.

The pair swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, bidding for his first professional title, gained dominance to force a final set.

The opponent rescued four initial break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev broke to that score to secure the win.

Fittingly, he earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet unable to handle a shot after a lengthy match.
